About the publication
Terms and resource reuse
Check the information scope and reuse terms for YAH for Schools, including original classroom materials and third-party source exclusions.
These terms explain the scope of the information and the permission offered for original YAH for Schools resources. This edition was prepared on 3 November 2026. The website and classroom downloads are available without payment or registration.
Using the educational material
The guides explain concepts, offer questions and provide activities. They are supplementary materials for teachers and school librarians to select and adapt. They are not a complete curriculum, an examination specification, individual legal advice or a guarantee of a particular learning outcome.
Suggested ages and lesson durations are editorial planning estimates. Teachers remain responsible for deciding what is suitable for their learners, school context and available time. The curriculum notes distinguish England and Wales and link to official guidance.
Permission for original resources
You may print, copy and adapt original YAH for Schools material for teaching and personal study with attribution. Identify adaptations. This permission excludes third-party material.
You may, for example, print a worksheet for a class, put an original activity on a school learning platform for your learners, change an example to suit a lesson, or reformat the material to improve access. Retain the resource title and a link to its YAH for Schools page. Where you alter a resource, make clear that it is adapted and which changes are yours.
For example: “Adapted from Claim, evidence and reasoning, YAH for Schools, https://yah4schools.org.uk/classroom-resources/claim-evidence-reasoning/, edition 3 November 2026.” Use the corresponding title and URL when adapting a different resource.
The permission does not grant a right to imply that an adapted version was checked or endorsed by YAH for Schools. It does not grant rights over an organisation's name, a third-party book, a linked document or a source website. If you want to use a third party's work, check its own permission or licence separately.
Third-party sources
The external links identify sources and further reading. They do not transfer the rights to reproduce the linked material. Educational purpose alone is not a general permission to republish somebody else's book, image or webpage online. The Intellectual Property Office explains that copyright exceptions have conditions; read the official guidance for that context.
The site does not provide book scans or copies of historical campaign material. Its fictional scenarios, questions and explanatory prose were created for the current resource collection.
Independent sources and careful interpretation
A link is not an institutional endorsement, partnership or accreditation. A first-party statement is evidence of the stated position and should not be used to infer the views of every person with a similar identity. Readers should check sources and consider the limits explained on the relevant page.
Availability, updates and contact
Pages and resources may be corrected or revised. Keep a record of the edition if you adapt a resource, and consult its original page for later changes. The editorial policy explains source and correction standards, the privacy page describes data handling, and the contact page states the current contact arrangements.
